Making his kickboxing debut at Fight For It IX, Sam Marler showed he had more than pure boxing talents in the bank when he dropped Garrett Rosenbaum with thudding leg kicks. But here, he’ll be facing Fight For It’s No. 1 lightweight in MMA, BillyJack Cupp, who scored a stoppage of his own at FFI IX.
While Marler’s boxing and kickboxing experience makes him the specialist on paper, Cupp has demonstrated a sharp acumen for the stand-up game, with four of his seven wins in the cage arriving via TKO. Under kickboxing rules, we still expect to see Cupp’s sharp combinations carry him to victory.
