Layne Maher returns to the Fight For It cage, taking on Jacob Thompson under Youth MMA rules

Layne Maher proved his mettle at Fight For It XI, squaring off against the taller Mason Taylor in a kickboxing match. Taylor’s explosive flurries earned the victory that night, but at Fight For It XII, Maher will have more tools available to him. For the first time ever, Fight For It is proud to present youth MMA in a modified ruleset that eliminates strikes to the head, but allows for the full range of kickboxing, clinching, and grappling skills.

A student at Hayastan MMA, Maher can be expected to have some grappling acumen to add to his kickboxing experience. He’ll face Jacob Thompson, who trains with WAOTA, under Coach Chase Gamble — a combat sports veteran and the State Director for both North and South Carolina for the United States Fight League’s Youth Pankration tournaments.

Youth kickboxing at Fight For It has consistently provided an explosive start to the event, and Youth MMA promises to provide similar thrills.

Fight For It XII takes place on Dec. 18 in Gaffney, S.C. Purchase your tickets now at fightforitcompany.com.
