The debuting southpaw Giovonnie Waddell, fighting out of Team ROC Harrisburg, made a strong showing in all dimensions of his battle with Atlantic MMA’s Garrett Rosenbaum. At range, the two traded low kicks and flurries of boxing. In the clinch, Waddell wrenched on his underhooks and scored with tight uppercuts against the cage. And on the ground, Waddell moved fluidly to maintain top pressure on Rosenbaum. To his credit, Rosenbaum had his share of thudding body kicks and tight punches, but it wasn’t enough to save him. In the second round, after a series of exchanges, Waddell uncorked a massive left hook that dropped Rosenbaum to the canvas. Waddell earned 5 points in the 2019 Fight For It MMA Grand Prix, and added a notch int he win column. Rosenbaum slipped to 0-2.
