JJ Brantley came into his Fight For It 7 bout against Dreon Martin with a wave of hype behind him. The former amateur champion earned an 8-1 record as an amateur before taking time away from the sport. Making a comeback as a newly minted pro, Brantley certainly showed no signs of ring rust as he battled through Martin’s slick defenses with a flowing, technical series of transitions on the ground, ultimately earning his first professional win with a first-round armbar. Martin’s record shifts to 1-4, as Brantley notches 1 in the win column.
