The 3-3 Elevate MMA Academy prospect Shayaan Khokhar battled Gym O’s 2-1 Zachary Thrift through three rounds at Fight For It IX. Thrift’s aggressive brawling style put quick pressure on Khokhar, and an improved kicking game gave him options at range. But as Khokhar found his range and started landing clever counter strikes, the later rounds belonged to the Elevate kickboxer. Landing heavily enough to cause Thrift to hesitate in his flurries in the third round, Khokhar secured the judges’ unanimous decision and moved to 4-3.
