Jonathan Stamey, Atlantic MMA and Fight For It & Company head, made his debut in the promotion at Fight For It IX’s boxing card against US Marine Corps boxer Dalton Weis. In the early goings, Stamey’s composure and disciplined counterstriking kept the aggressive Weis at bay, but as the rounds wore on, Weis found his way inside with increasing frequency. Stamey found a frequent home for thudding uppercuts to Weis’ midsection, but also ate Weis’ ripping hooks to the gut as well. As the bout carried on, both men proved their gameness, trading heavy leather throughout, but the judges’ gave their favor to Weis’ tenacious infighting.
