Debuting kickboxers Brent Williams and Xavier Poole look to test their training under the bright lights of Fight For It VIII

Brent Williams had intended to make his kickboxing debut back in August, with a tough training camp kicking off in July. But when that fell through, Williams — alongside his coaches and training partners at Salvation MMA — kept camp rolling and booked a slot at Fight For It VIII. “Plans changed but goal stayed the same,” said Williams, who boasts years of boxing as well as his kickboxing preparation. “I’m extremely prepared cardio-wise. September 14, our game plan is to go in there and do whatever it takes to get that win.”

He’ll be battling another promising debut in Xavier Poole. Fighting out of the stalwart roster of Gym-O, under coach Jeff Jimmo, Poole’s preparation has focused on building strong fundamentals and understanding of the game. “The only game plan for this fight is to have fun and get the experience and learn who I am as a fighter,” Poole said. “The experience at this gym is humbling but I am a part of team full of great people who have all helped me learn and grow.”

“I can’t wait to have the honor of being in that ring,” he adds.

A clash of debuting fighters is always an unpredictable event. Don’t miss it when Williams and Poole collide Saturday night at Fight For It VIII. Tickets are available now at store.atlanticmma.com.
