Fight For It 1: Excellence Spotlight

The Spark of Fight For It

On October 21, 2017, Fight For It launched its very first event in Conover, North Carolina. Among the names on that debut card were three young fighters—Cody Reece, Wyatt Joyce, and Michael Delozier—who would go on to embody the heart of what the promotion stood for. Fight For It wasn’t just a show; it was the beginning of their journeys, the proving ground that lit a fire under their careers.

Wyatt Joyce & Michael Delozier

That night, Wyatt Joyce picked up his first amateur win, setting the stage for a career built on resilience and steady growth. Joyce would go on to stay perfect under the Fight For It banner at 2-0 before claiming an amateur title with Titans of the Cage in 2022, proving his start was no fluke. On the same card, Michael Delozier tasted the sting of defeat, but instead of folding, he used it as fuel. He rebounded to capture two amateur titles outside the promotion and now stands at the threshold of turning professional—a testament to perseverance born from his debut.

Cody Reece – From Struggle to Spotlight

The brightest light from Fight For It 1 was Cody Reece, who earned his second career win with a submission that night. Reece became a fixture of the promotion, testing himself in both MMA and kickboxing while openly sharing his story of redemption—overcoming drug addiction to reclaim his life through combat sports. His rise included three amateur titles, capped by the Fight For It welterweight belt, before stepping into the professional ranks where he now holds a 1-0 record. For Reece, the phrase rings true: Fight For It is not something you do—it’s something you live.
