Christopher Morales: “It Feels Good to Be the Champ”

The Future of Fight For It Youth Kickboxing

At Fight For It 25, 13-year-old Christopher Morales showed that the future of North Carolina’s fight scene is in good hands. After five composed rounds, Morales claimed the 90-pound Youth Kickboxing Championship, using sharp range control, patient combinations, and a maturity far beyond his age. But what stood out most came after the fight—his joy, humility, and hunger for more.

When Morales sat down for his post-fight interview, belt in hand and a grin across his face, his excitement was contagious. “It feels good,” he said, smiling shyly into the camera as he lifted the belt for the crowd to see. “I was excited to get in there, did the game plan, and got the win.” Representing Lake Norman Muay Thai, Morales spoke like a veteran in the making—thankful for his coaches, confident in his preparation, and already thinking ahead to the next challenge.

That next challenge comes fast: an international title fight in Canada just two weeks later. “Me, my dad, and another teammate are going,” he shared proudly. The young champion spoke about his roots—how he started martial arts after being bullied as a kid, how his father introduced him to the sport, and how it’s shaped him into who he is now. Off the mats, Morales enjoys soccer and video games, but when asked about his future, his focus was clear: “MMA… all the way to the UFC.”

As the ontheroxxx team wrapped the interview, they reminded everyone to follow Morales on Instagram at @not_chris53, calling him “the GOAT right there.” Watching him handle himself like a seasoned professional, it’s easy to believe it. With heart, skill, and humility leading the way, Christopher Morales isn’t just the 90-pound youth kickboxing champ—he’s a glimpse of what’s coming next for Carolina combat sports.
